1. Venice, Italy.
There is one rule regarding Venice: if you are not lost, then you have done something wrong. Even if you are perfectly oriented in the area, there is still a good chance that you will get lost in this beautiful city. There is no better way to explore the labyrinths of Venice than to immerse yourself completely in this city and get lost in it.
2. Hong Kong.
Hong Kong is beautiful in many ways - when you stand under the majestic skyscrapers, or are on a pleasure boat sailing along Victoria Harbor. When you fly up to the city, it seems as if the fog is cleaving, and you open up to Shangrila where hilly green islands surround the stone jungle.
3. Istanbul, Turkey.
Istanbul is a historic crossroads of culture and design. The city's landscape perfectly reflects the spirit of the two conquering empires. Look no further than the Blue Mosque or Hagia Sophia for the beauty of the Byzantine dome and colorful mosaics, Ottoman minarets and Islamic calligraphy.
4. New York, USA.
This versatile metropolis with historic architecture, which includes many buildings from the 22-story Flatiron Building to World Trade Center 1, and 8.4 million people walk at their foot. In the central park, you can feel the green grass tickling your feet. Street food can be smelled at intersections, and music can be heard from the many bars in Greenwich Village. There is the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the New York Museum of Modern Art, and the Museum of Moving Image.
5. London, Great Britain.
It is one of the most vibrant cities in the world, rich in history and modern engineering (London Eye, Mary Ax Skyscraper). It seems as though art and literature are seeping from every wall. There are also many contemporary art galleries, a large number of the most fashionable boutiques and much more.
6. Chavin, Morocco.
Tucked away high on the slopes of the Rif ridge, the city of Chaven is famous for its architecture, as well as the fact that almost all the walls of the houses in it are painted in different shades of blue and light blue. That is why the city was nicknamed "The Blue Pearl". Some argue that Andalusian Jews who fled Spain in 1492, when persecuted, decided to paint their homes in shades of blue. They believed that the blue color of the sky reminds them of God most of all. However, it is believed that the city was painted blue as a symbol of peace and tolerance. Every year the houses are renovated with new blue paint.
7. Cape Town, South Africa.
The whole world could appreciate the beauty of this city during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. There are white sandy beaches, not far from the magical Table Mountain (officially recognized as one of the seven new wonders of nature), as well as many vineyards. Coastal highways are considered some of the best in the world. At the foot of Table Mountain is the Kirstenbosch botanical garden, where an incredibly beautiful artichoke protea flower grows.
8. Amsterdam, Netherlands.
A huge number of different cultures are concentrated in this city. It represents 177 nationalities. Amsterdam is rich in attractions. Here is the Rijksmuseum, the Vincent Van Gogh Museum, the Hermitage on the Amstel, and the red light district (De Wallen). All this attracts more than 4 million tourists every year.
9. Kyoto, Japan.
Travel back in time to the imperial capital of Japan, where you can visit 10th century temples and see young geisha on the streets. This city has very well preserved the history of Japan. It contains approximately 1,600 Buddhist temples and 400 Jinja shrines. Kyoto is called the main cultural center of Japan. It was not damaged during the Second World War, so not only many temples, but also beautiful gardens and palaces have been preserved here.
10. Barcelona, Spain.
In this city, modern Gothic style and oriental themes intersect. The renowned Catalan architect Antoni Gaudà wanted to create organic urban spaces in his beloved city. In its Gothic Quarter, there are traces of the Roman presence. Since the Middle Ages, there have been the Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia. Among the many attractions are: Barcelona Aquarium, Ramblas, Casa Mila, Gaudi House Museum, Cathedral, Picasso Museum, Park Guell, Sagrada Familia, Camp Nou stadium and Mount Tibidabo.
